According to reports, the four remaining siblings of the late Nabeeha Al-Kadriyah have been freed from their abductors.
The sisters, along with their father, were kidnapped in early January. The abductors initially set a ransom deadline, and the family’s failure to meet the demand resulted in Nabeeha’s tragic death.
Following the victim’s killing, the bandits raised the ransom from N60 million to N100 million, threatening harm to the remaining sisters. As of 12:30 am on Sunday, the girls had regained their freedom and returned to their Abuja residence under the escort of security operatives.
Najeeba and Nadherah, students at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, along with their twin sisters Habeeba and Haneesa, were among the released victims.
The family’s uncle, Sherifdeen, confirmed the girls’ release, expressing gratitude for the support received during the challenging period.
Although the N100 million ransom was paid, the bandits held onto the sisters until Saturday night. The family, in a statement, thanked Nigerians for their unwavering support and prayers, acknowledging the sacrifices made during the ordeal.
While celebrating the sisters’ return, the family also remembered those who lost their lives during the process and extended prayers to their grieving families. The statement highlighted the remarkable strength and resilience displayed by the daughters during their captivity, expressing hope for their emotional healing and strength in the days ahead.
