On Tuesday, armed policemen employed teargas to disperse ousted Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers from the Plateau State House of Assembly premises.
Following their dismissal by the Court of Appeal, the 16 PDP lawmakers sought entry into the Assembly Complex, demanding participation in the House’s proceedings. Earlier in the day, they, along with supporters, had gathered at the Rayfield Old Government House in Jos.
Despite security forces attempting to prevent their access to the Assembly chambers, the dismissed lawmakers remained steadfast in their determination not to vacate the Government House premises.
