Sen. Kalu Donates Patrol Vehicles To Police, Vigilante to Beef up Security

The Senator representing Abia North district, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has urged his constituents in Abia North and all Nigerians to abstain from violence and criminal activities. Instead, he encourages them to harness their agricultural potentials to contribute to the upliftment of the Nigerian economy.

Speaking from his residence in Igbere, Senator Kalu delivered this message while presenting four security patrol vehicles to the Nigerian Police Force Area Commands and the Igbere Vigilante group.

Emphasizing the importance of patriotism, he stressed that individuals should refrain from engaging in activities that result in the destruction of lives and public property, asserting that such actions are grievous mistakes.

Senator Kalu clarified that the Toyota Hilux vehicles he donated were funded from his personal resources, urging the Nigerian Police Force in the designated Divisions to employ them effectively in combating crime and ensuring the safety of citizens and their property.

While highlighting his past initiatives, such as installing solar electricity in parts of Abia North, Senator Kalu lamented the vandalism of some facilities by criminals. Despite this setback, he expressed confidence that the Nigerian Police and Igbere Vigilante group would now be better equipped to function optimally with the provision of the patrol vehicles.

Additionally, Senator Kalu called on Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu in developing the country. He identified crime, erratic electricity, corruption, and economic challenges as major issues facing Nigeria, urging the President to address these concerns.

Upon receiving the donated vans, Abia State Commissioner of Police, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, acknowledged that his personnel in the designated Area Commands and Division now have no excuse to falter in their responsibility to secure lives and property.
