Sylvester Madu Escapes Death In Cameroon

Renowned Nigerian actor Sylvester Madu narrowly escaped a life-threatening encounter when gunmen attacked him at a social venue in Cameroon.

Madu had been in Bamenda, Cameroon, responding to an invitation from local filmmakers to work on a film titled ‘Abakwa.’

The tranquil evening took a dark turn when chaos erupted at a leisure spot in Bamenda. The Ambazonia Boys, also known as Amba Boys, instigated disturbances, alleging that the owner of the establishment brought Sylvester without settling their grievances. This disagreement quickly escalated, resulting in gunfire.

Panic swept through the leisure spot as patrons sought refuge on the ground. Sylvester managed to find safety in the VIP section, discreetly hiding in a corner. Swift intervention by military forces was crucial to restoring order.

Upon their arrival, they confronted the Amba Boys, enabling Sylvester to be safely escorted away in a military vehicle.

Tragically, the unforeseen incident claimed three lives, and at least eight others sustained injuries. The repercussions of this shocking event underscore the precarious nature of the entertainment industry, even in seemingly peaceful locations.
