Formerly holding the position of Chairman at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdurasheed Bawa has been granted his release from custody.
Bawa’s detainment began following his arrest by the Department of State Service (DSS) on June 14, 2023.
This occurred shortly after President Bola Tinubu suspended him from his role as EFCC Chairman due to alleged office misconduct.
During the period of his detainment, the Secret Police refrained from formally charging him or specifying the exact nature of his alleged offense.
Finally, on a Wednesday night, he regained his freedom after his release from detention.
