Police Investigate Alleged Poisoning of Tourism Minister, Lola Ade-John

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the suspected poisoning of Minister of Tourism, Lola Ade-John, who is currently receiving medical care at the Federal Medical Centre.

As of Saturday morning, Mrs. Ade-John has been under medical care at the center for five days.

Josephine Adeh, the Public Relations Officer of the FCT Police Command, has informed the media that Commissioner of Police Haruna Garba has issued an order for the State Criminal Investigation Department to assume immediate control of the investigation, transferring it from the Mabushi Police Division.

“The CP has ordered the Mabushi Police Division that was investigating the matter to immediately transfer it to the SCID,” Adeh said.

Ade-John, 60, is said to have suffered acute poisoning from an unknown origin.

She was inaugurated alongside other ministers in August.
