On Wednesday, the esteemed founder of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), Matthew Ashimolowo, celebrated his wife, Pastor Yemisi Ashimolowo, on her special birthday.
At the age of 71, Ashimolowo took to Instagram to express his heartfelt sentiments, a message that was also shared on the church’s official Instagram page, honoring Mrs. Ashimolowo.
In his touching tribute, the clergyman expressed that she deserved double the honor and fervently prayed that her unwavering dedication and love would be met with countless blessings.
The post read, “Today, Wednesday 27th September, KICC celebrates Pastor Yemisi Ashimolowo’s birthday!
“We pray that her labour of love will be rewarded with uncountable blessings, in Jesus’ name.
“In line with the Word of God in 1 Timothy 5:17, Pastor Yemisi Ashimolowo is worthy of double honour.
“Let us celebrate Pastor Yemisi, by showing her our love and appreciation.”
In August, Ashimolowo and his wife celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary. They are the proud parents of children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Ashimolowo currently serves as a resident pastor at KICC Walthamstow in London, where she also leads the KICC Winning Women Ministry.
During a 2014 interview with City People, she revealed that she had never imagined marrying a pastor, particularly because she was the daughter of a pastor herself.
“Marrying a pastor was the last thing on my mind. Because my dad is a pastor and as a pastor’s daughter, I dreaded marrying a pastor. My dad has two brothers who are pastors also but of different denominations. I never really wanted to marry a pastor but God knows the plans He has for our lives,” she said.
