Elegushi Royal Family Disowns Sam Larry Over Mohbad’s Death

Oba Saheed Elegushi, the revered leader of Ikate Kingdom, has issued a heartfelt plea for a thorough investigation into the tragic demise of the talented singer, Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

This call for scrutiny comes in response to unsettling rumors surrounding music promoter Samson Balogun, also known as Sam Larry, who stands accused of multiple assaults on Mohbad. There have been speculations suggesting Sam Larry’s connection to the Elegushi Royal Family, prompting Oba Saheed Elegushi to address the matter.

In an official statement released through his media office on a Friday, the monarch, as represented by lead partner Deyemi Saka from Lambert and Curtis, conveyed his sincere condolences to Mohbad’s grieving family, friends, and well-wishers.

Furthermore, Oba Saheed Elegushi clarified that the palace had no prior knowledge of any association with Sam Larry, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s untimely passing.

According to Oba Elegushi, the said “Erinfolami Balogun is not known to the Palace of Elegushi and the entire Royal Family and is also not a member of the family.”

The king added that “as a public figure and a Father to all and in particular everyone in His Royal Majesty’s Kingdom and domain, taking pictures with Kabiyesi is not a proof of a ‘special’ relationship.”

Oba Elegushi said rather it was a testament to the open door policy and new approach to traditional leadership which was not peculiar to him, pointing out that any interpretation beyond such was a misrepresentation of fact.

He, therefore, “urge the general public to discountenance insinuations and innuendos aimed with the malicious posts being circulated on using His Royal Majesty’s might to prevent the law from taking its course as hoax of blackmail.”

The monarch prayed God to grant the bereaved family strength to bear the loss.

The Elegushi Royal Family had on Thursday distanced itself from the 43-year-old following a petition Mohbad made to the police before his death alleging that the socialite works for the royal family.
