Tinubu Directs Immediate Payment of Deceased Soldiers' Insurance – COAS

President Bola Tinubu has taken the initiative to ensure the prompt disbursement of insurance entitlements owed to the families of officers and soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the nation.

This noteworthy announcement was conveyed by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, during the commencement of the Combined Second and Third Quarter COAS Conference held in Abuja yesterday.

Lagbaja emphasized the paramount importance of the welfare of our troops and their families. He has made a resolute commitment to strengthen and consolidate the current support systems in place, with the primary aim of enhancing the overall well-being of soldiers and their families.

“In addition to providing befitting living quarters for our personnel, we shall ensure the newly introduced ‘Affordable Home Ownership Option for All Soldiers Scheme’, designed to provide affordable and high-quality post-service homes for our soldiers, works. We shall also ensure that our injured warriors get the best medical care, and continue to support the widows and next-of-kin of our fallen heroes,” he said.

Lagbaja appreciated Tinubu for directing that all pending insurance payments owed families are paid without delay, and for his strategic guidance of the Armed Forces.

He said: “On behalf of the officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army, I want to reiterate our unalloyed loyalty and pledge our total commitment to the defence of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

The COAS urged army personnel to continue to work with other security agencies to decisively deal with all security challenges facing the country.
