Cameroon’s Rapid d’intervention Battalions (BIR) have recaptured Abana, former headquarters of Bakassi Peninsula, Gulf of Guinea from separatist pro Biafra rebel group Black Marine.
It was gathered that authorities in Cameroon deployed more troops to Isangele subdivision with reinforcement in Abana yesterday, a town the military were forced to retreat during during gunfire with the armed rebel group.
Tension have since increased since the presence of heavy military.
Henry Edet, Operational coordinator of BnL have urged the Black Marine to retreat in Abana.
Sources say they have recaptured oil workers quarters in Abana formally under the control of the militants
