Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has returned to Nigeria after his medical trip to Germany.
His wife, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, shared the news on Thursday along with a photo of her husband aboard an aircraft.
“Homebound,” Mrs Akeredolu captioned the picture.
The governor began his medical leave in June and it was extended following advice from his doctors and approval by the House of Assembly.
Majority Leader of the assembly Wole Ogunmolasuyi told reporters that the governor was already in his Ibadan residence.
Ogunmolasuyi said, “We thank God the governor has arrived in the country. He landed in Abuja and moved straight to Ibadan.”
The governor may stay in lbadan for some weeks before resuming fully for work, sources said.
Akeredolu is expected to receive briefing from members of his cabinet led by the acting governor, Lucky Ayedatiwa.
While he was away, there were rumours of his death. But the government, his wife and the party countered with photos.
