A tragic incident unfolded in Abuja as an officer from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) lost their life while attempting to tow a trailer from the scene of a devastating crash.
The somber news was verified and announced by Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Bisi Kazeem, the official spokesperson of the FRSC, in a statement issued on a sorrowful Friday.
The unfortunate road traffic accident transpired at the Karu Bridge along the Nyanya-Maraba expressway on the 1st of September, casting a shadow of grief over the community.
He said the crash occurred at 04:02 a.m. while the FRSC truck on tow services was moving a trailer along the aforementioned route.
“Investigation into the crash revealed that a total of four people were involved, out of which three sustained different degrees of injuries.
“One person who happened to be the driver of the tow truck was killed. Only the two vehicles, the truck and FRSC tow truck were involved,” he said.
He said the FRSC Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu, has commiserated with the management and staff of the corps over the loss.
Mr Biu, who was deeply saddened by the crash, prayed for the soul of the deceased to rest in peace and directed immediate evacuation of every obstruction caused by the crash.
