On Thursday, Gboyega Akosile, the chief press secretary (CPS) to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had a meeting with Bisoye Coker-Odusote, the acting director-general and chief executive officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
They shared a moment captured in photos, which Mr. Akosile posted on Instagram. In his post, he encouraged her to excel in her new role and bring pride to Lagos.
βJust ran into my dear sister, Bisoye Coker-Odusote, the newly appointed Director-General of the National Identity Management Commission at the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport. Congratulations again my sister. Go and deliver to make us proud,β he wrote.
Akosile thanked President Bola Tinubu βfor recognizing and trusting talented young Nigerians with positions of power.β
Until her appointment at NIMC, Coker-Odusote was general manager and CEO of the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA).
The previous NIMC boss Aliyu Aziz was directed to commence a 90-day pre-retirement leave.
According to a statement from the president’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, the leave, starting on August 24, 2023, will result in his service retirement on November 24, 2023.
