Cashing out!! Lucas Paqueta and Luiz Enrique under fire over betting Scandal

Today, Monday 21st August 2023 Luis Paqueta will go to FA headquarters to give his version of the episode as investigation have commenced on a betting Scandal involving Lucas Paquetá’s yellow card in West Ham’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa, on March 12, in the Premier League.

The Brazilian took the yellow in the 24th minute of the second half.

Initial analysis showed that on that day several new accounts were created at Betway, account linked with people close to Paqueta, with users depositing the maximum amount allowed.

These accounts made a married bet to increase the winnings: the authors would only receive the money if Paquetá took yellow against Villa and if the striker Luiz Henrique, from Betis, received the card against Villarreal, on the same day on March 12.

Luiz Henrique, from Betis, received a yellow card, in a match against Villarreal for the Spanish Championship, for complaining about the arbitration, on the same day (March 12) of Lucas Paquetá’s match at West Ham.

In the 43rd minute of the second half, with the game stopped for a substitution, Luiz Henrique complains to the referee and, later, receives a yellow card. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.

This Friday, when the news about the investigation was confirmed, Lucas Paquetá and Luiz Henrique were cut from the Brazilian national team, respectively, from the main and pre-Olympics.

At the end of the leagues, the authorities scan for possible suspicious cases, and Paquetá is under investigation in England.

Recall that Brentford striker, Ivan Toney was banned for 8 months over betting scandals.
