Bayero University, Kano (BUK), has announced the death of Hajiya Hadiza Attahiru Jega, the wife of the former Vice-Chancellor of the university and former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega.
The university, in a statement shared on its official social media page on Sunday, “announce the passing of Hajiya Hadiza Attahiru Jega.”
BUK did not disclose the cause of death but offered prayers and condolences to the family.
It also announced that her Janazah prayer would take place immediately after Zuhr prayer at the National Mosque in Abuja on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
The university prayed for the deceased, asking Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her eternal rest.
