Following the controversy surrounding the recently concluded Nigerian general elections particularly the presidential ballot which is currently being challenged at the presidential election petitions tribunal.
In this old video interview in February 24 2023, a day before the 2023 Presidential election, Mike Igini, a form INEC Resident Electoral commissioner, a day before 2023 presidential election said INEC should come out clear now and tell the world that before any Presidential candidate can be declared winner, that he must get 25% votes in Abuja aside getting 25% in at least 24 states.
He stated that this was the position of the Nigerian constitution and the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC
When he said this on national TV, nobody, even current INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu refuted this statement.
