Sen Chimaroke Nnamani in Land Grabbing Scandal As Obe, Umueze, Amurri Communities Take Back Ancestral Lands

 

Three communities in Nkanu land, Enugu State have accused a former governor of Enugu State, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani of land grabbing. Leaders of the community in a ceremony within the week, accused him of forcefully taking their lands when they gathered to retrieve the lands.

According to the leaders of these communities who performed rites marking the retrieval, the ancestral lands were forcefully taken from them by Mr Chimaroke Nnamani when he was the governor of Enugu State.

Obe Community Leader

Leaders of youths of these communities who spoke at the ceremony, observed by IgbereTV, said that they decided to retrieve the lands because it was illegally taken by the government and does not belong to the government.

Umueze Community Leader

Hear them “these are the youth leaders of Obe, and Amurri communities coming together to speak with once voice, one spirit, in one accord. We have consulted thr spirits of our forefathers to help retrieve what was taken away from them illegitimately.

Amurri Community Leader

They were led by Chief Mkpakara of Obe, High Chief Amudo, and the President General of Amurri Community.

 

They also said “We have long being cheated by people in government, but Chimaroke Nnamani inflicted the worst injuries upon us. So, to right the wrongs, we are taking back our lands”.
