Deborah: Buhari Has Emboldened Religious Extremism With His Comment, We ‘re Living With Animals. – Edeh | #IgbereTV
I have carefully read Buhari’s reaction to the unfortunate murder of Deborah.
I must say that we are in a serious problem.
The response of the president leaves much to be desired.
He said Muslims all over the world demand
respect for Mohammed.
Respect is earned not exacted.
But our president is ignorant.
I had written yesterday that the true enablers of religious extremism are political and religious leaders.
Why should Mohammed be respected?
What constitutes disrespect to Mohammed?
Who can answer these questions?
Buhari also said that Muslims demand respect for Jesus Christ too.
This is specious.
Muslims have never killed anyone for insulting Jesus Christ.
If Jesus Christ is respected in Islam, why did the midget in Kaduna go unpunished after derogatorily insulting Jesus.
Did El-Rufai not say that those who criticized Jonathan during his term in office are likely to be accused of saying that Jesus slept with Mary Magdalene?
Is there any insult that has been offered to Mohammed that equals that which he meted out to Jesus Christ?
Why did Muslims all over the world not demand the head of El-Rufai?
Why did he go scot-free?
What is blasphemy?
And if blasphemy is a capital offence, who is innocent?
Do Muslims not call Jesus a prophet in the rank of Jesus?
Is this not blasphemy?
The Bible is unambiguous about the position of Jesus.
Christians say Jesus is God. If Christ is God, is it not blasphemy for Muslims to call Him a prophet?
Is Jesus not called the only begotten son of God in the Bible?
Does the Koran approve this?
Are there not as many suras as sand on the seashore that God does not beget and is not begotten?
Do all these not constitute blasphemy?
Again I ask:
If blasphemy is a capital offence, who is innocent?
Christians ridicule traditionalists; Muslims deride the sonship of Jesus, and atheists see all as beautiful nonsense.
Who is innocent of blasphemy?
Who?
Buhari has emboldened religious extremism with his comment.
We are living with animals.
