I Don’t Respect People Who Film Themselves While Helping Others – Shan George

Shan George, the Nigerian actress, says she has no respect for people who film themselves while helping those in need.

The film star was reflecting on the growing practice of people publicising their charity works via her Instagram stories on Wednesday.

George said people should learn to keep their “camera and loudspeakers” at home while helping the needy.

“Abeg, feel free to reason am as you like o, as for me, I have no single respect for anyone who doesn’t keep their camera and their loudspeakers at home, while helping d needy,” she wrote in a mixture of English and Pidgin.

In follow-up posts, the actress faulted the notion that filming the process of helping the needy is usually to inspire others to also do same.

She argued that people should not wait to see others helping those in need before doing it.

George added that givers must come to terms with the fact that not filming their works won’t undermine such gesture.

“A true charitable heart does not need motivation to do good, from any human,” she added.

“If you need to see another person do good, before u do good. You are just copy copy busybody. E be you like say those wey no dey carry camera and loudspeaker no dey do good abi?”
