Oct30: We ‘ll Re-hoist Biafran Flag, and Defend It With Our Sweat And Blood – BNG Writes AU | #IgbereTV

The Biafran Supreme Military Council of Administration [BSMCA] sincerely appreciates the receipt of our two letters sent to the African Union and her 55- member states titled “OFFICIAL NOTICE/INVITATION TO THE BNG LIVE BROADCAST SLATED FOR 27 – 30 OCTOBER 2021” dated 15th October 2021 and “NOTICE ON THE DECLARATION OF THE SOVEREIGN STATE OF BIAFRA AND FORMATION OF OUR GOVERNMENT” dated 20th October 2021.

The Biafran National Guard -BNG do hope you find our letters worthy of note and well understood.
According to the opening remarks of the African Union Charter which states “Reaffirming the pledge they solemnly made in Article 2 of the said Charter to eradicate all forms of colonialism from Africa, to coordinate and intensify their cooperation and efforts to achieve a better life for the peoples of Africa and to promote international cooperation having due regard to the Charter of the United Nations. and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights;
Continuing the opening remarks states as thus “Conscious of their duty to achieve the total liberation of Africa, the peoples of which are still struggling for their dignity and genuine independence, and undertaking to eliminate colonialism, neo-colonialism, apartheid, zionism and to dismantle aggressive foreign military bases and all forms of discrimination, particularly those based on race, ethnic group, color, sex. language, religion or political opinions…”
The Biafran National Guard is well aware that the occupying Nigeria State is a signatory to the African Union Charter which was adopted on 27 June 1981 and entered into force 21 October 1986 and do hope its government will be persuaded to respect the Charter.

The Biafran National Guard is the military wing for the restoration of the sovereign state of Biafra and never interested in causing an unnecessary conflict or war but to defend the fundamental freedom and human rights of Indigenous Biafrans against aggressive governments such as the occupying Nigerian security forces.

Recall, Amnesty International, in 2016 after investigations found overwhelming evidence that Nigerian security forces have committed gross human rights violations, including extrajudicial executions and torture against hundreds of pro-Biafra activists demonstrating peacefully for the independence of Biafra sovereignty.

The AU is not oblivious of the Biafran Genocide of 1967-70. Fifty-one years after that atrocious acts, the occupying Nigeria government has continued to choose violence over dialogue with Indigenous Biafrans.

The African Union Charter stated that “reaffirming their adherence to the principles of human and peoples’ rights and freedoms contained in the declarations, conventions and other instrument adopted by the Organization of African Unity, the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries and the United Nations;
Firmly convinced of their duty to promote and protect human and people’ rights and freedoms taking into account the importance traditionally attached to these rights and freedoms in Africa.”

Also the African Union Charter declared Article 20.1 that “All peoples shall have the right to existence. They shall have the unquestionable and inalienable right to self- determination. They shall freely determine their political status and shall pursue their economic and social development according to the policy they have freely chosen.”

The Biafran Supreme Military Council of Administration[BSMCA] wishes to remind the AU that in 2016 President Muhammadu Buhari openly threw his weight behind the people of Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, SADR, otherwise called Western Sahara, stating that Nigeria would ensure the realization of their self-determination and independence.
While receiving Western Sahara’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Salem Ould Salek, president Buhari assured that outstanding issues on self-determination for the country would be painstakingly pursued. He recalled that he had given the same issue attention during his reign as a Military Head of State in 1984, also vowing to finish off from where he stopped.

We have severally called for the unconditional release and acquittal of innocent men and women imprisoned in the Onitsha and Awka Prisons respectively for over fifteen years simply for exercising their rights to Self-determination.

These Biafran prisoners of conscience are Mrs. Onyekachi Orji, Miss Okwudiri Bassey, Uche Idikaigbo, Michael Okezie, Uchenna Nicholas, Peter Igbokwe, Ikechukwu Aghara, Chima Asor and Chinweike Irondi.
Others are Sabastine Amadi, Casmir Odakara, Ojemba Anyanwu, Eni Kalu, Ndubuisi Okam, Ikechukwu Chikwem, Emmanuel Orji, Chukwuma Kalu, Chidiebere Chikwem and Mmaduabuchi Asika. Including Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and Benjamin Onwuka.

BNG is clearly stating that ‘what is good for the geese is good for the gander’, the Indigenous peoples of Biafra must be accorded same right to self-determination accorded to Palestine and Western Sahara.

In conclusion, the Biafran National Guard is firmly exercising the African Charter Article 20.2 which states that “Colonized or oppressed peoples shall have the right to free themselves from the bonds of domination by resorting to any means recognized by the international community.”
The Peoples of Biafra have solemnly decided to RE-DECLARE, RE-AFFIRM and RESTORE the sovereignty of Biafra. We shall re-hoist our Biafran National flag of independence, we shall defend it with our sweat and blood.

We urge you to join us from our National Headquarters in the transmission of live broadcast from 27 – 30 October 2021.

The BSMCA hereby call for understanding from the United Nations and to get ready to welcome the birth of a New Nation on October 30, 2021.

Sincere Regards.
