On September 15 2017 the leadership of southeast Nigeria otherwise known as Igbo Nation came together at Enugu to proscribe indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB)
until the above date of proscription, to the best of my knowledge as resident of the southeast, I had never heard IPOB ever shot at anybody, (I stand to be corrected) but today it’s no longer news that a lot of people arrested in connection with one killing or the other especially of security operatives in recent time in the southeast has confessed to being members of IPOB.
Going back to pre September 15 2017, IPOB was adjudged one of the most peaceful mass movement in the world by both local and international right groups. But today what has gone wrong? how did the beast unleash out of IPOB? who awoke the sleeping lion? our people said ọkpatara nkụ arụrụ sị ngwere bịara ya orịrị, (he who gathered ant infested firewood invites lizards to his compound) Our people also say Onye kpọ ọbá yá mkpọkọrọ àgbàtà obi enwere ya kpoo ntụ, (when you call your own common your neighbors will treat it as nothing) There is power in the spoken word, that’s why it’s not good for fathers to call their children names or curse them, no matter the provocation.
The elders and leaders of Ndị-Igbo cursed IPOB by calling them terrorists! (Afa onye n’eso ya, Afa onye kpọrọ nkịta ya k’ọnaza) And since then things has never been the same again. Why do we always want to bring our own to be stoned while others nourish theirs and protect then? why?.
It has taken the North practically enternity to proscribe Miyetti Alla, and or call the Fulani herdsmen by what they really are, “TERRORISTS” having been so designated by the international community as 3rd most dangerous terrorist organization worldwide!, yet the so called leaders of the southeast rushed into a communique to proscribe IPOB and called them a terror organization way back 2017.
WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND!
Today the federal government that you were trying to please by condemning your own has turned back to call you a TERRORISTS!.
Let me quote the president General Mohammedu Buhari, in case you don’t read in between lines. Buhari said and I quote: “So that IPOB is just like a dot in a circle. Even if they want to exit, they’ll have no access to anywhere. And the way they are spread all over the country, having businesses and properties. I don’t think IPOB knows what they are talking about.” end of quote.
so you see in his statement every Igbo men and women old and young, are all IPOB including Governors David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi, Ifeanyichukwu Lawrence Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Mmaduaburochukwu Obiano of Anambra, Hope Uzodimma of Imo and Okezie Ikpeazụ of Abia, all of us are IPOB.
But was Buhari right? yes he was! the only people that are wrong here is the southeast governors and leaders who called themselves TERRORISTS! Therefore Buhari said again and I quote: “In any case, we say we’ll talk to them in the language that they understand. We’ll organise the police and the military to pursue them.” end of quote. Who is he pursuing with military and police? everyone of us ofcourse! From the Governors, to the Senators, to the house of rep members, to the state house members, to every ordinary men, women and children in the streets of Abakaliki, in Enugu, in Onitsha, in Owerri and in Aba! Why? because our leaders say we are all terrorists!. We are proscribed and all our activities are illegal!, including everything going on at the Government house Abakaliki, at Lions house Enugu, at Agụ Awka in Anambra, at Douglas house Owerri and at Government house Umuahia are all illegal and are done by terrorists!.
THE EARLIER THE BETTER (Taa bu gboo)
Our people said “Mgbe onye ji teta ụla ọbụrụ ụtụtụ ya (when you woke up is your morning). The earlier these our leaders comes together again and untag themselves as terrorists and de-proscribe their activities, and cleanse our land of blood, the better it would be for all of us, Igbo land is a land Elohim, we have culture and our land is sacred, and must be kept sacred.
let our leaders braze up and put away fear, engage the federal government and other ethnic groups in Nigeria and demand for our rights vigorously, they will never swallow us! Protect your own and see how you will win our hearts again. Everyone on Earth has a history, and no matter where you find yourself you will never throw away your origin!.
