Sanusi Inaugurated As Kaduna Varsity Chancellor

Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai on Saturday installed the former emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II as chancellor of Kaduna State University.

The governor decorated the new chancellor in his capacity as visitor at the fourth combined convocation of the institution.

Speaking at the ceremony, the vice-chancellor Prof. Muhammed Tanko said the institution had keyed into El-Rufai’s vision of providing courses that would produce self-employed skilled graduates.

”We have also championed the development of benchmark for the National Universities Commission (NUC) in the area of logistics and supply chain management,” he stated.

The vice chancellor noted that a total of 9,684 graduands would receive degrees in various programmes, having been found worthy both in character and learning.

Of the total number of graduands, he said, 5,984 were undergraduates of three sets, while 3,700 others were postgraduates.

The occasion also witnessed the conferment of honorary doctorate degree in management to the minister of finance, budget and planning Zainab Ahmed.

Minister of police affairs Muhammad Maigari-Dingyadi was conferred with honorary doctorate degree on governance while managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Mele Kyari was awarded doctor of public sector governance.
