Iniubong Umoren alleged killer Uduak Akpan
Police on Friday paraded Uduak Akpan the prime suspect in the murder of Iniubong Umoren at the state police headquarters in Ikot Akpan Abia, Uyo.
His father was also paraded.
Mr Akpan, 20, allegedly lured Ms Umoren, 26, on the pretext of a job interview, raped, killed and buried her in his father’s residence in Akwa Ibom.
Commissioner of police Andrew Amiengheme on Thursday dispelled rumour that Akpan had killed himself in police custody.
“It is not true that Uduak Akpan has committed suicide. The suspect is in our custody. May be he committed suicide in the bedrooms of those peddling the rumour,” he said.
