Police Parade 16 'Unknown Gunmen' Allegedly Involved in Multiple Attacks on Security Personnel (Photos)

Police have arrested the alleged gunmen suspected to be involved in the incessant killing of its operatives in the South East and South-South regions of the country, Igbere TV has learned.

The attacks which were carried out in states within these regions had the gunmen freeing suspects held in the detention facility, carting away arms from the armouries and burning of the police facilities.

At least 20 persons were reported to have been killed in the attacks in the regions.

However, in a statement made available to Igbere TV on Monday afternoon, the police said 16 suspects who are believed to be connected to the attacks have been arrested.

“Thanks to a coordinated effort between the Army and Police, 16 suspects were apprehended for complicity in a series of violent and unprovoked attacks on security operatives and facilities in some states of the Federation, particularly in South-Eastern Nigeria” the statement reads.

Four of the are arrested suspects, who totaled 16, were identified as; Ugochukwu Samuel a.k.a Biggy, 28, a native of Arochukwu LGA in Abia State; Raphael Idang, 31, a native of Odukpani LGA of Cross River State; Cletus Nwachukwu Egole, aka ‘Alewa,’ 60, a native of Orlu in Imo State; Michael Uba, 33 from Imo State and 12 others.
