JUST IN!!! Popular Govt Critic, Junaid Mohammed, Dies At 71

A Second Republic lawmaker Junaid Mohammed has passed on at the age of 71.

Brother of the deceased Ahmed Salik told newsmen that the popular government critic died on Thursday in his home state of Kano.

Mohammed was a member of the House of Representatives during the Second Republic until the National Assembly was dissolved by the Muhammadu Buhari-led military junta in 1983.

He studied medicine in the defunct United Socialist Soviet Republics in the 1970s.

Mohammed transitioned into a government critic and spoke critically of former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan.

He soon became critics of the Buhari administration.

Survived by a wife and four children, Mohammed in 2018 stepped down as the vice-presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Before the development, he was the running mate of the SDP presidential candidate for 2019 election Donald Duke.
