Fatokun, Abducted Deputy VC Anchor University, Regains Freedom

Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Anchor University, Lagos Prof. Johnson Fatokun has been released from his captors.

Fatokun was taken captive on Sunday in Nasarawa State.

The university’s Assistant Registrar, Strategy and Communications Okesola Sanusi confirmed the release in a message to newsmen.

“To the glory of God, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Anchor University, Professor J.O. Fatokun, has been released,” Mr Sanusi wrote.

Anchor University is owned by Deeper Christian Life Ministry.

The professor is expected back in Lagos on Thursday, he added.

Sanusi did not give additional information on the circumstances of his release.

Fatokun had taken his children to school in Jos and Kaduna and was on his way back to Lagos when he was abducted.
