Police in Benue have said that unknown gunmen attacked and killed three police officers at the residence of the Katsina-Ala Local Government chairman Alfred Atera.
The command’s spokesperson Catherine Anene said the incident took place early on Thursday.
Anene confirmed that Mr Atera was not hurt in the incident and that investigation into the incident had already begun.
