Ikpeazu : Take A Working Tour To Rivers & Ebonyi States To Learn How To Develop Abia - Orji

By Kelvin Orji

RE: PERFORMANCE IS NOT A FUNCTION OF JAUNDICED MINDSET BUT VERIFIABLE ACHIEVEMENTS: CHIEF DANIEL OKEKE, TAKE NOTE.

Ordinarily, I wouldn’t have responded to a recent post on facebook by one, Eric Ikwuagwu, highlighting the so-called, facebook and invisible achievements of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State but for the records and posterity, it is imperative. While I do understand that the sponsored writer must justify his monthly stipend from the coffers of Abia state government, I will not allow mischievous elements to tarnish the hard-earned reputation of a successful business enigma and philanthropist of repute in the person of Chief (Dr.) Daniel Okeke, Founder and Chairman of Swiss Spirits Hotels and Suites, Port Harcourt.

I am not going to dwell much on the established and clear poor performance of the current government of Governor Ikpeazu. A trip to neighbouring Ebonyi state, will clear all doubts whether Abia state government has put to judicious use the collective resources of Abians or not. Nevertheless, it is not too late for the helmsman in Abia state, to engage and seek professional advice and tutelage from his colleague, Governor David Umahi, who has put Ebonyi state onto global stage owing to gargantuan transformation of the state in all facets of life: economy, welfare, infrastructure and human capital development.

Having watched the video clip of Okeke’s comments on the bad performance of Governor Ikpeazu, as the saying goes, the truth is bitter, so I wouldn’t have expected anyone on the payroll of Governor Ikpeazu not to take a swipe on Okeke. I guess the unbiased and patriotic position of Okeke on the state of affairs in Abia state, is what has been giving Ikwuagwu and his cohorts sleepless nights, hence, their determined and spirited efforts in damaging the image of Okeke. However, their evil acts will be an exercise in futility as the renowned business mogul is known not to engage in media war. Like majority of Abians, Okeke has made his position clear and that is it.

I decided to pen this note to educate Ikwuagwu on the personality of Omereoha of Ututu, who is known across the globe as a successful business magnate, philanthropist per excellence and a highly detrabilized personality. Mezie as his fondly called by his fans, friends, mentees and business associates , because is unassuming in all ramifications .His name is not only a household name in his immediate community, Ututu but Abia state, owing to his humanitarian gestures that has impacted lives beyond his community. Having solely built schools, customary court, ICT centre and awarded scholarships to indigents among other philanthropic gestures, it is only logical to acknowledge and celebrate the remarkable feat of the young CEO, who has not relented in putting smiles on the faces of downtrodden people in the society. Okeke is indeed a blessing to his community and Abia state and Nigeria at large as a large employer of labour.

Back to the facebook writer, it is important to grab a copy of the biography of Okeke titled “DESTINY DEAL” so as to gain further insights into the personality he (Ikwuagwu) described as a businessman without a known address. I believe once the 264 page book is digested, the writer may have a re-think and apologize for his careless, biased, barbaric and evil description of a great personality. It is worthy to note that Okeke will not derail in supporting any good cause so far it is in the interest of the people and no amount of character assassination and blackmail will make he (Okeke) lose sleep in his philanthropic and business endeavours.

Nevertheless, we shall continue to encourage Abia state government to take a working tour of Rivers and Ebonyi states, not for sightseeing but to tap from the reservoir of leadership skills and pragmatic ideas of Governors Nyesom Wike and David Umahi respectively in a bid to deploy same to Abia state for the overall development of the state.

On a last note, Ikwuagwu, should know that posterity will judge Governor Ikpeazu for the bad state of roads and infrastructure across the state and not facebook defense of the Governor at all times.
