Fire broke out on Sunday at the Bodija outlet of Grandez Supermarket a chain store owned and operated by Florence Ajimobi wife of the late former Oyo governor Abiola Ajimobi.
The fire incident began from the back office of the outlet before extending to the main stores.
Firefighters from the Oyo State Fire Service were at the scene to stop the flames.
Officials of the state’s joint security task force team alias Operation Burst were on ground to prevent looting of the store.
Mrs Ajimobi arrived at the scene in the company of some friends and family members to monitor the situation.
The cause of the fire remained unknown at press time.
