Nigerian gay rights activist Bisi Alimi on Thursday celebrated his 4th wedding anniversary.
Bisi used the opportunity in a tweet to preach acceptance of gay romance.
“Just want to say that my husband and I have been married for 4yrs today,” he wrote.
“Same gender love is real. Same gender marriage is valid. Love is beautiful.”
Bisi married Briton Anthony Davis in November 2016 in the UK.
“”4yrs of being married to this one and it has been fun, though he gets on my nerves a lot and if you don’t know, looks can be deceiving; he is a shady bitch. Happy anniversary Anthony Davis” he wrote on Facebook.
He gained international attention when he openly declared his sexuality on national television in 2004.
The Nigerian has been recognised for activism on behalf of the gay community, including being added to The Gay UK LGBT 2014 Honour List in recognition of his work for ‘Education in the LGBT Community’ on January 1, 2014.
