Nigerian Army Denies Involvement In Shooting Of EndSARS Protesters

The Nigerian Army has denied reports that soldiers shot unarmed #EndSARS protesters at Lekki toll gate in Lagos on Tuesday.

Eyewitnesses had said masked men invaded the area dressed in military uniform and began shooting at them.

But the army in a tweet said the report was false.

It tweeted: “Fake News!!!”

The army launched its annual operation themed ‘Crocodile Smile’ on Tuesday.

Days ago, the army warned it would defend Nigeria’s democracy and would not hesitate to deal with “trouble makers” as #EndSARS protest continued to spread nationwide.

Several persons were shot dead during the bloodbath on Tuesday night.

The state government said it ordered investigation into the shooting.
