Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala on Tuesday visited the Elegushi of Ikateland Oba Saheed Elegushi Kusenla III.
The Barcelona striker said it was a “great honour” to meet with the monarch in an Instagram post.
“Courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi (Kusenla III) of Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom…..A great honor,” Asisat wrote.
Oba Elegushi tweeted that he was proud of the four-time CAF Women’s Player of the Year and that he would continue to support her other causes.
“It was a pleasure welcoming to my Palace, our soccer star and ambassador @AsisatOshoala,” he wrote.
“I am proud of your exploits and showing the world our story, the true Nigerian story of success through hardwork. I look forward to supporting your other causes. Thank you for coming.”
Asisat achieved her dreams in Spain in March as Barcelona emerged Spanish Primera Iberdrola champions following the abrupt ending of the 2019-20 season.
