Jerome Torshimbe, special adviser on bureau of local government and chieftaincy affairs to Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, is dead.
Mr Torshimbe died on Monday evening in an Abuja hospital three days after his 64th birthday.
Igbere TV gathered from a family source that Torshimbe had complained of fever.
He was taken to a hospital in Makurdi, Benue State capital but later transferred to Abuja.
Torshimbe had only been recently nominated by Ortom to serve as chairman of amnesty rehabilitation committee.
The deceased was a former chairman, Gwer-WestLlocal Government Council in 1992 and a former commissioner during the administration of George Akume.
