Dancer and choreographer Kaffy Shafau-Ameh has announced the death of yet another dancer identified as Esther.
The 40-year-old made the announcement on Tuesday, July 21 days after raising alarm over recent deaths in her industry.
“She died yesterday. Yet another case of prolonged medical condition,” Kaffy wrote in an Instagram post.
Esther’s death came days after that of a male colleague named Romeo.
Kaffy had written after Romeo’s death that “We have to be more prayerful. There is a wave and this is becoming too much. Four dancers less than two months.”
She followed up by launching an initiative that will give dancers access to medical examination and treatment.
Hours before announcing Esther’s death, Kaffy posted a video campaigning against abuse of substances and ignorance about health in her industry.
Dancer and video vixen Picture Kodak died in April from electrocution at Clarence Peters’ studio in Omole, Lagos.
