Bishop of Sokoto Catholic Diocese, Matthew Kukah, has lost his mother, Janet Kukah.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar first announced the loss on Twitter, commiserating with the cleric.
He wrote: “My deepest condolences, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah on the loss of your beloved mother, Mrs Janet Abashen Hauwa Kukah. There’s no loss like the loss of a mother. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. May her soul rest in peace.”
President Muhammadu Buhari also extended condolences to Kukah on the loss.
The president’s condolence message was conveyed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.
Buhari prayed that God would grant the soul of the departed eternal rest.
