ENUGU – A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State and former State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engr. Vita Abba, has expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of the former National Vice Chairman of the PDP, South-South, Chief Dan Orbih, who was laid to rest on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

Chief Orbih, a respected party leader and elder statesman from Edo State, died on August 31, 2026 at the age of 64.
In a condolence message, Abba described the late Orbih as a man of uncommon loyalty, courage and principle who stood for justice and equity.
“Chief Dan Orbih was not a typical Nigerian politician. He gave everything for the growth and stability of the party he served,” Abba said.
The former Enugu PDP Chairman noted that Orbih’s contributions, especially in the South-South and at the national level, will be greatly missed.
He recalled Orbih’s role in building bridges across zones and his unwavering commitment to internal democracy.
“On behalf of my family, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, the Edo State PDP, the South-South PDP, and the national leadership of the party. May God grant his soul eternal rest,” he added.
An emotional video showed Engr. Abba bidding farewell to his contemporary, good friend, and dependable ally, describing Chief Orbih as a brother and a trusted ally who will be deeply missed.
Chief Dan Orbih served as PDP National Vice Chairman, South-South, and was until his death one of the most influential voices of the party in the region.
