The 65th President of Aba Sports Club, Chief Jerry Kalu, has described Prof. Gregory Ibe, the Founder and Chancellor, Gregory University, Uturu, in Abia, as a serial philanthropist, Igbere TV reports.
Chief Kalu said this during a meeting with a delegation from Prof Gregory Ibe Foundation in his office.
Igbere TV reports that Prof Ibe partnered with Aba Sports Club to construct a club tractor house.
Represented by Hon. Emeka Okafor who represented Prof Ibe during meet with Chief Kalu presented a cheque of #1.2M to members of the club management for the project.
The Media & Public Relations of the University, Sleek Ogbonnaya Ogwo, in a statement said; “The 65th President of Aba Sports Club, Chief Jerry Kalu has described the Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, Prof Gregory Ibe as a serial philanthropist and committed partner of progress.
“Speaking when he received a delegation from Prof Gregory Ibe Foundation in his office, Chief Kalu praised the magnanimity of the Chancellor, who according to him “has maintained an enviable partnership with Aba Sports Club for many years, which has witnessed the donation of many gifts to the club,including a bus”.
“Speaking earlier, leader of the delegation, Hon. Emeka Okafor commended the leadership of Aba Sports Club for initiating and undertaking the construction of many projects which in his words has resulted in “massive expansion of the club on all sides”.
“He stated that the delegation came to redeem part of the Chancellor’s pledge which was made during the inaugural dinner of the 65th President and proceeded to present a cheque of #1.2M to Chief Kalu.
According to Hon Okafor, the pledge is in aid of the construction of a club tractor house and promised to remit the balance of #2M to ensure completion of the project.
Chief Kalu was joined in receiving the delegation by some executive members of the club management.
