...

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Hon. Mascot Uzor Kalu has expressed great shock and sadness over the unfortunate news of the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and other 67 Abia citizens which include some of the state executive council members being confirmed positive of Corona virus, Igbere TV reports.

Hon. Mascot who described the news as unfortunate, prayed for the speedy recovery of the Governor and all other Abia citizens positive of the virus (COVID 19).

The former Abia Chief of Staff, expressed displeasure over the recent recorded high number of COVID 19 cases in Abia State, making the state the second highest in South East despite the drastic measures taken by the state to curtail the spread of the Virus (COVID 19).

“It is with great shock and sadness, I received the unfortunate news of the State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu with some of his executive council members testing positive to Corona Virus. Most disheartening is the recent 67 new cases recorded in state which has automatically placed Abia as the second highest state in Southeast with Covid 19 cases despite all the measures put in place by the state to curtail the spread of the virus.

I specially send you my best wishes at this trying period in your life and that of your family and pray for your quick recovery. His Excellency be courageous and of high spirit, knowing fully well that God is with you and most Abians are looking up to you as their leader to draw hope and strength”.

The APC Chieftain also advised Abians to take seriously the precautionary measures as instructed by medical experts and authorities.

“To my fellow Abia citizens who have also tested positive, including some of the state executive council members, my sincere prayers and good wishes are with you all,” he said.

“I will use this opportunity to once again call on all Abians to be at alert and keep to all precautionary measures given by the NCDC.”
