Ex Gov, Mimiko Mourns Late Evangelist Olumilua

Former governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko, has mourned the late Bamidele Olumilua, saying he was a “true leader”.

Mr Olumilua, former governor of old Ondo State, died in his Ikere-Ekiti residence in early hours of Thursday after a brief illness.

In a lengthy tribute, Mr Mimiko said although he had much to say, it was not yet time to speak on Olumilua’s contribution to his political history.

Mimiko encouraged the late Olumilua’s children and wives to move on with confidence and on his “remarkable” legacies.

He wrote: “Evangelist Olumilua was to me a true leader. Ours was a relationship that was never broken by partisanship, time and or location.

“He remained true to his leadership roles to me till the end and I valued him like a true political beneficiary.

“While time is not yet ripe to write of his indelible contribution to my political history, my family and I wish to extend our condolences to his immediate and extended family members, political and religious associates, Ekiti people and government and all lovers of social democratic governance, a cause to which the late Olumilua devoted most part of his adult life. He will be sorely missed.”
