'BOP DADDY' Challenge: Falz Petitions NIS CG, Babandede Over Transfer Of Immigration Officers In Viral Video

Rapper, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has petitioned the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Muhammed Babandede, over the transfer of five female NIS officers who partook in the #BopDaddy challenge.

Falz began the challenge to promote his single ‘Bop Daddy’. To join the challenge, participants dance and flip dresses after covering their phone camera.

Five NIS officers – Priscilla Irabor, Catherine Bakura, Blessing Udida, Binti Attabor, and Ockiya Eneni – took part in the challenge and were transferred to Borno, Yobe, Kano and other states as part of the service’s disciplinary measures against them.

Assistant Comptroller-General, Iam Haliru, in a memo dated May 12, 2020, stated that the women would not be given any relocation allowance and must resume at their new duty posts within seven days despite a ban on interstate travel currently in place.

However, Falz shared pictures of his petitions to Mr Babandede on social media on Friday, drawing his attention to the Public Service Rule which states that “officers on posting, transfer or assumption of duty on new appointment at their new station, different from their city/town of domicile shall be entitled to transport fare for self…”

The rapper added: “Had the postings been in order, the seven-day time-frame accorded the officers would have been an impossible one as inter-state travel is currently prohibited.”

Falz urged the NIS boss to reconsider the decision.
