The Federal Fire Service says the fire which occurred on Wednesday morning at the Treasury House, headquarters of the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, has been extinguished.
The service gave the update in a tweet.
The building is located beside the Federal Capital Territory FCT Police Command in Garki, Abuja.
FCT police commissioner, Bala Ciroma, told reporters at the scene of the incident that an investigation into the cause of the fire had commenced.
He advised motorists to use alternative routes into the area, noting that the Ladoke Akintola Boulevard would be cordoned off during the investigation into the cause of the fire.
The police commissioner said parts of the building were damaged by the fire.
