Hauwau Bello, mother of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, has died aged 101.
A statement signed by the governor said his mother died after a brief illness on Sunday.
“We are relieved that her passing was peaceful and painless,” Mr Bello said in the statement.
According to him, she will be buried according to Islamic rites on Monday at her residence in Nagazi, Okene Local Government Area of Kogi.
She is survived by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many adopted children.
