Four members of a family were on Sunday killed by a truck belonging to Dangote Group of Companies at Gaida community in Kano metropolis.
Kano police spokesperson, Abdullahi Haruna, confirmed the incident to Freedom Radio.
Mr Haruna said the police had impounded the truck but that the driver was on the run.
The cement-filled truck killed Muhammad Sagir, 40, his wife and three children who were all riding with him on a motorcycle.
One of the children survived the accident and is currently responding to treatment at the hospital.
The victims, Haruna said, have been evacuated to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in the state.
