Trump Lampoons Congress Over Non-transmission of Impeachment Articles to Senate

United States President Donald Trump have attacked the Democratic members of Congress over non-transmission of impeachment articles to the Senate, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV recalled that on December 19, 2019, Trump become the third president in US history to be impeached after the House passed both articles of impeachment: abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

The votes, which were almost entirely along party lines, rendered Trump the only first-term President to be impeached, and the third in the country’s 243-year history.

However, more than 2 weeks after the impeachment, House Democrats are yet make their case in a Senate trial as to why Trump should be removed from office for linking congressionally approved foreign aid to Ukraine with an investigation into the family of former Vice President Joe Biden, a leading contender to face Trump next year as the Democratic Party’s nominee, Igbere TV reports

Reacting to the delay by the Congress to transmit the impeachment articles to Senate, Trump described the Democrat as weak and pathetic.

“The reason they are not sending the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate is that they are so weak and so pathetic.”

“The great Scam continues. To be spending time on this political Hoax at this moment in our history, when I am so busy, is sad!” he said.
