Zero Pothole: We've Fully Commenced Work In Umuahia - Contractor Insists

Following a recent zero pothole project approved by the Abia state governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, contractors have been mobilized to sites to ensure the actualization of this agenda.

This is contrary to insinuations that there is no such project going on in any part of Abia state.

Speaking with newsmen on Thursday, one of the contractors working in Umuahia metropolis, Engr. Emeka Ezeanyagu said they have fully commenced work to ensure that Umuahia and environs are devoid of potholes.

While decrying the unfriendly weather, Engr. Ezeanyagu emphasized that he and his team are committed ensuring that the areas where work has commenced will have a new look early next week.

According to the contractor, Uwalaka Street, Enugu road, Bende road, Finbars by Enugu are near completion in the three weeks contract.

He insisted that stone base has been laid in these areas, adding that asphalt filling is the only thing left.

He said the contract when completed will bring a new lease of life to motorists in Umuahia and environs.
