Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has re-emphasised his group’s desire to see to its aim of seceding from Nigeria.
In a tweet on Tuesday evening, Mr Kanu said that nations and conglomerates who were once touted as indivisible like Yugoslavia, the Soviet Union, and Czechoslovakia, all separated.
He added that Biafra would come and that Nigeria was divisible.
“All countries, like Nigeria, that were said to be indivisible have all disintegrated. This includes the Soviet Union, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, etc. Even Roman and British empires were once touted as not only indivisible but permanent. Nigeria is divisible. Biafra shall come,” he said.
Kanu is currently on self-imposed exile after escaping from the grips of the Federal Government which instituted treason charges against him.
The military had in a mission known as Operation Python Dance raided Kanu’s residence in September 2017, killing several members of the group.
It is alleged that another military operation on the group might be in the books.
