FIFA To Take Decisive Action Against Nigeria And Ghana 0 Over This

The crisis of leadership in the Nigeria Football Federation ,NFF is heading to a situation that world football governing body, FIFA is set to sanction Nigeria with a ban any moment from 20 August.

Amaju Pinnick and Chris Giwa

So also the football crisis in Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to attract ban on Ghana.

Two decisions of the Bureau of the FIFA Council in relation to undue influence in the affairs of the Nigeria Football Federation and the Ghana Football Association have been notified on 13 August 2018., FIFA said.

In line with art. 16 par. 1 of the FIFA Statutes, the Bureau of the FIFA Council decided that if by Monday, 20 August 2018, at 12:00 (CET), the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) offices are not handed back to the legitimate NFF executive committee under President Amaju Melvin Pinnick, who was duly elected on 30 September 2014, the NFF will be suspended with immediate effect for contravening art. 14 par. 1 i) and art. 19, as well as art. 14 par. 1 a) of the FIFA Statutes. The suspension would be lifted only once the NFF, under President Amaju Melvin Pinnick and General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi, confirms that it has been given back effective control of the NFF and its offices, notwithstanding the court ruling on Pinnick and Chris Giwa

Furthermore, the Bureau decided that if the suspension of the NFF takes effect, the Nigerian team currently competing in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup France 2018 will still be allowed to continue to participate in the tournament on an exceptional basis given that the tournament is underway.

In Ghana, it is noted that formal investigation proceedings are currently being carried out by the chairperson of the investigatory chamber of the Ethics Committee against Mr Nyantakyi, who has been provisionally suspended by a decision taken by the chairperson of the adjudicatory chamber of the Ethics Committee. However, the Bureau of the Council considers that the petition introduced by the Attorney General to the High Court of Justice to start the liquidation process of the GFA constitutes undue influence in the affairs of the GFA in contravention of art. 14 par. 1 i) and art. 19 par. 1 of the FIFA Statutes.

Under these circumstances, the Bureau decided that if the petition to start the liquidation process of the GFA is not withdrawn by Monday, 27 August 2018 at 12:00 (CET), the GFA will be suspended with immediate effect. The suspension would be lifted only once the above-mentioned petition is withdrawn and FIFA is given written proof thereof.

Former Real Madrid Coach, Zidane Continues To Spend Quality Time With Family. Photos

Zinedine Zidane has continued to enjoy quality time with his family as he continues to flaunt their vacation trips on Instagram.

The Frenchman, who stepped down from Real Madrid at the end of last season after steering them to a third consecutive Champions League success, has regularly posted pictures of his summer breaks with his family on social media over the past few months.

And Zidane was at it again on Monday morning. Zidane shared a picture of his family enjoying a peaceful boat trip out on a tranquil and serene French river.

Zidane captioned the photo: ‘Family in a beautiful place’. Zidane was pictured on the boat after going sailing with his wife Veronica and his four footballing sons Luca, Enzo, Theo and Elyaz.

Enzo was on the books at Real Madrid and made his debut for the club under his father’s reign, but now currently plays for Rayo Majadahonda in the Spanish second division leaving Luca on his own to fly the family flag.

Madrid’s third-choice keeper is the only Zidane left in the Spanish side’s squad after Enzo and Zinedine both departed the club over the past two years. Zidane’s younger two sons, Theo, 16 and Elyaz, 12, are currently learning their craft at the club’s renowned academy.

The 46-year-old cited ‘tiredness’ as his reason for stepping down as Madrid boss back in May and has certainly taken advantage of his new-found spare time to set that straight.

He has mostly spent it unwinding on holiday and has taken trips to Ibiza and Fuerteventura – and not to mention the several relaxing breaks around France – since quitting his job

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Debut For Juventus To Be Shown For Free On Facebook. (Details)

Eleven Sports will be showing Cristiano Ronaldo’s competitive Juventus debut live and free of charge on Facebook, the broadcaster announced on Monday.

Following his £100m summer transfer from Real Madrid, Ronaldo should make his first league outing for the reigning Italian champions against Chievo at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi in Verona on Saturday August 18.

Eleven Sports has pledged to show at least one match per week from both Serie Aand La Liga on their UK Facebook page as part of an ‘innovative partnership’ with the social media platform.

Such an agreement will see the Andrea Radrizzani-owned sports provider also show a selection of matches from other top-flight football leagues for nothing on Facebook, their free-to-air partner.

Eleven Sports is also now the exclusive broadcaster of the Chinese Super League, Dutch Eredivisie and Swedish Allsvenskan in the UK.

‘By making Facebook our free-to-air partner, we are giving our leading content centre stage projection, opening it up to new and diverse audiences, and confirming again our innovative leadership in the global sports media industry,’ said Eleven Sports group managing director Danny Menken.

‘In all our global markets we want to be where the fans are. We aim to serve fan communities and develop interaction and engagement around our content, while ensuring we are always accessible and easy to reach.

‘Our unique free-to-air partnership with Facebook helps us to do this as part of our fresh and contemporary approach to distribution.’

Along with Chievo against Juventus, Torino’s trip to Inter Milan on August 26 will also be available for free on Facebook during the first fortnight of the new season.

That is the same for La Liga contests between Girona and Real Valladolid, Valencia and Atletico Madrid and Barcelona and Valladolid.

Super Eagles Coach In ‘Dilemma’ As Mikel Obi Battles For Fitness Ahead Of AFCON Qualifier.

Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr, is reportedly set to consider his influential skipper, John Obi Mikel, who is battling to be fit ahead of a crucial 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles next month. According to reports, the coach is planning to include the player in his squad.

For the third game in a row, the defensive midfielder has been omitted from Tianjin Teda 18 for their Chinese Super League clash against Hebei CFFC.

However, the positive news is that Mikel is making good progress in his recovery from a knee complaint which saw him miss games against Dalian Yifang (July 28) and Guangzhou Evergrande (August 2).

Tianjin Teda have five more matches to contest before another international break and it remains to be seen what kind of physical state Mikel is in when he reports for Super Eagles duty.

The former Chelsea star was suspended for Tianjin Teda’s first game after the World Cup break, before picking an injury against Chongqing Dangdai Lifan on July 21, a game in which he went the distance.

Changchun Yatai’s Odion Ighalo has no such injury worries ahead of the AFCON qualifier against Seychelles; he netted his fifth goal in five matches on Saturday

Alex Iwobi Speaks On Being “Arsene Wenger’s Pet” After Party Scandal.

Alex Iwobi admits he must become “more professional and knuckle down” following the fallout over his late-night partying shame. The Nigerian World Cup star concedes he has to prove himself all over again under new Arsenal boss Unai Emery after sparking fury from fans last season.

He was snapped at a wild drug-fuelled house party in January — just a day before the Gunners’ woeful 4-2 FA Cup third-round defeat to Championship club Nottingham Forest.

Then-manager Arsene Wenger slammed his antics as “unacceptable” and promised to fine him.

However, Wenger refused to axe him, despite angry supporters branding the player a “waste of space”, an “idiot” and calling for him to be sacked.

Now, as Iwobi prepares for the new season under Wenger’s Spanish successor, he has spoken about the incident for the first time.

He confessed: “I received deserved criticism, of course. I have to be more professional. “I am not this young boy any more as I have been in the Premier League for three seasons now, so the expectations are always going to grow the older you get. “I have to be professional and knuckle down, and not let any distraction affect me.”

Wenger insisted his player had not drunk alcohol or taken drugs and stuck by him last season, despite a poor return of just three goals from 39 appearances.

It prompted some supporters to dub him “Wenger’s Pet”.

But Iwobi said: “Seriously, I didn’t listen or look at that. “I’d like to believe Arsene Wenger would pick someone because of their ability and because of what they can add to the team. “I wouldn’t try to say he had any favourites because he just picked players based on what was right for the team.”

He added: “Any player can get stick, even the world’s best.

“It’s going to come with the football you play. It’s just how you deal with it.

“Because I have a family and friends with amazing support, they help me get through any situation. So there is no bad time for me.”

Alex Iwobi Signs New Long Term Contract With Arsenal.

Nigerian International Alex Iwobi has penned a new five-year deal at Arsenal worth £70,000-a-week. The 22-year-old has committed his long-term future to the Gunners as he carries on his love-affair with his boyhood club.

SunSport reported last month how the Nigerian international snubbed interest from Serie A side Lazio to extend his stay with the North Londoners.

Boss Unai Emery told the club’s website: “I’m very pleased Alex has signed a new contract with us.

“He is a great example of a player who can succeed from the Academy through hard work and I look forward to working with him and our other talented young players in the squad.

He Came Back With A Good Mentality’ – Leicester Coach Speaks On Iheanacho.

Leicester City manager, Claude Puel has hailed striker, Kelechi Iheanacho after the Nigerian international scored in Wednesday’s pre-season friendly game against Valencia.

Vardy and Iheanacho

Iheanacho netted from a close range in the 11th minute as the game eventually ended 1-1 after the normal regulation time.

The 21-year-old took his tally to two goals in his last two matches in pre-season, having scored against Udinese last weekend.

Puel, however, admitted that Iheanacho was still struggling to attain full fitness.

”I think Iheanacho came back with a good mentality, of course, he cannot play for a long time at the moment with good fitness levels,” Puel told Leicester City’s website.

”I’m happy about the mentality of the players. They’ve come back with a good spirit and with a fighting spirit.

”I’m happy about this, but we needed to make attention and protect them with rotation and to work on their fitness step by step.”

Iheanacho did not begin pre-season with The Foxes as he was given an extended break due to his commitments with the Super Eagles during the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

NFF Officials Seen “Begging” Sports Minister As Crisis Takes New Turn. Photos

The crisis rocking the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), took another dimension as the Federal High Court in Jos on Wednesday refused to grant a request to stop Chris Giwa from taking over as the President of football body.

Amaju Pinnick, whose four-year tenure as NFF President is due to end on September 30, had filed a motion challenging the court’s ex-parte order which installed Giwa in office.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the court’s latest ruling meant Pinnick has again failed to dislodge Giwa from the NFF.

According to reports, this is the second effort by Pinnick to ensure Giwa was stopped from ousting him, by seeking an outright vacation of the order issued by the court.

A Sports journalist and career coach, Niyi Busari, shared pictures claiming that Amaju Pinnick and his board member begged the minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung during an African competition in Asaba, Delta state yesterday.

Paul Pogba Spotted Leaving Party House With Girlfriend Ahead Of Man. United Return.

Paul Pogba has been spotted in Los Angeles ahead of his return to pre-season training with Manchester United.

The France international won the World Cup earlier this summer and has not returned to club duty since picking up that trophy with his nation in Russia.

He is expected to return after a three-week break following the end of the World Cup on August 5.

And he has been making the most of his time off, hosting a pool party in the city over the weekend.

But ahead of returning to United, which will happen on Sunday, he was pictured checking out of his rental house.

He was not concerned about who might see him as he stood on his balcony wearing a pair of red boxers and sliders.

Pogba then changed into a ‘Black Magic’ t-shirt and bright orange shoes as he drove off with his girlfriend, Maria Salaues.

The pair were taken away from the $30million (£22m) house in a series of black 4x4s.

The 25-year-old was heavily praised for his contributions to France’s World Cup winning campaign and there have been suggestions he performed better in Russia than he has done for United.

Transfer: Ahmed Musa’s move to Saudi Arabia confirmed

Super Eagles winger, Ahmed Musa, has left Leicester City’s camp in Austria, to seal a big money move to Saudi Arabia side, Al Nassr.

According to his representative, the Premier League side has accepted a fee of £14.8m with several add-ons, which will see the deal rise to as high as £25m.

“He will arrive Saudi Arabia tomorrow morning. A fee was agreed yesterday but he had to tidy some of his belongings before heading out to Saudi Arabia. The deal is too good to turn down,” his representative told

“Al Nassr are getting him at his prime. He has regained his confidence at the World Cup with Nigeria and towards the end of last season he was one of the key men for CSKA Moscow during his loan spell,” he added.

Musa has already demanded for the number 7 jersey at the club and the deal will reportedly make him the highest-paid Nigerian footballer when it is wrapped up.

Neymar Hosts Party For Girlfriend In His Mansion To Celebrate Her 23rd Birthday. Photos

PSG star Neymar hosted an exclusive 23rd birthday party for his stunning girlfriend Bruna Marquezine at his Brazilian mansion.  Guests were treated to some impressive choreographed moves from the couple, but also had to watch them smooch in front of the live band.

Marquezine doesn’t turn 23 until August 4, but her beau is due to report back for pre-season training in France ahead of the new Ligue 1 season.

Neymar – dressed in a black tank top and cap – organised the birthday bash at his home in Mangaratiba in Rio de Janeiro.

Videos from the evening show the loved-up duo dancing side-by-side, with the Brazilian actress then twerking for all to see – before being presented with her birthday cake.

And the 26-year-old Olympic gold medallist then capped off the night by serenading his partner as he hit all the right notes during the party.

Among those reportedly in attendance were Neymar’s sister Rafaella Santos, supermodel Izabel Goulart and Caroline Dantas – the mother of the ex-Barcelona forward’s son Davi Lucca.

The former Santos magician has been living it up back in his home country after being given an extended break following his participation at the World Cup.

New PSG boss Thomas Tuchel will be hoping Neymar carries on his fine form from last season, in which he netted 28 goals in 30 games.

Transfer: David Luiz finally takes decision on Chelsea future

Transfer: David Luiz finally takes decision on Chelsea future

Chelsea defender, David Luiz has finally decided that he’s staying at the club to fight for his place under new Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri after a tough period of being coached by former boss, Antonio Conte.

Luiz, who has been linked with a move away from the West London club following an unfortunate spell under Conte, is confident he can thrive better with Sarri.

The Brazilian’s relationship with Conte deteriorated after a 3-0 defeat by Roma in the Champions League last October.

The center-back went on to appear only twice in the English Premier League for the remainder of the season, with one start.

The 31-year-old, however, insisted that he will not be forced out of Stamford Bridge.

Speaking about his future at Chelsea, British outlet, Dailymail, quoted Luiz as saying: “I came back to Chelsea to stay here.

“When I took my decision to come back here from Paris it was to win the Premier League and to do something again with Chelsea, so I am very happy here.

“I love this philosophy. We play high, with a lot of possession of the ball, in a technical way. He is trying to help us every single day to learn his philosophy quickly, to do our best for Chelsea.

“We are trying to train really hard every single day, double sessions, to learn quickly. We’re doing that every single day. A new philosophy always takes time.

“But it also depends on us, if we are dedicated every day and doing things every single day in training, especially in this beginning with these friendly games.

“We are trying to learn quickly. It depends also on us.”

Luiz, whose contract with Chelsea will expire in 2019, has started both of Sarri’s first games in charge in the pre-season. Chelsea secured a 1-0 win over Perth Glory in Australia last week and drew 1-1 with Inter Milan in Nice on Saturday.

See The Moment Governor Ikpeazu Showcases His Goalkeeping Skills At Enyimba Stadium. Photos

The Governor of Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu yesterday showed off his skills as a good goalkeeper, when he manned the goal post for a brief interaction with the ball.

Ikpeazu, who was inspecting the newly reconstructed Enyimba Stadium, shocked his entourage when he manned the goal post and asked for a shot to be taken.

He made a good save by stopping the ball shot by ex-super eagles player, Uche Okechukwu.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Information in Abia, John Okiyi, said Enyimba International Football Club of Aba would return to their home ground of Enyimba International Stadium in Aba in September.

Okiyi told newsmen in Umuahia that the stadium would be ready in September when the reconstruction of its playing turf had been completed.

He said the installation of a new turf, worth one million euros (about N450 million), had been 98 per cent completed.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the contract is being handled by the Yenagoa-based Monimichelle Group.

The commissioner however said while the pitch was almost ready, the entire work in the contract had reached 80 per cent completion.

He said the other works in the contract included the construction of tartan tracks and re-roofing of the spectator stands.

Goalkeeper Suspended After Using Phone During Match To Order Uber

A Brazilian goalkeeper who used his mobile phone during a match as a PR stunt in collaboration with Uber has been suspended for acting against the “ethics of the sport”.  Atletico Paranaense goalkeeper Santos was filmed using his mobile phone in a match against Atletico Minero on May 13.

Santos, 28, has now been suspended for one match by the Superior Tribunal of Sports Justice in Brazil.

The suspension is down to a rule in which players are banned from “any conduct contrary to discipline or sporting ethics not typified by other rules of the code”.

Atletico Paranaense were fined £10,000 for helping to organise the PR stunt.

The initiative was planned by the club and ride-sharing company Uber as part of a campaign to increase awareness of the dangers of driving whist using a mobile phone

We Want Messi’; Roma President Slams Barcelona For ‘Stealing Their Player

Roma president Jim Pallotta has accused Barcelona of acting ‘unethically and immorally’ in their signing of Brazilian winger Malcom – and suggested they should send star player Lionel Messi to the Italian capital as compensation.

The Serie A club seemed to have a deal sewn up with Bordeaux for the 21-year-old Brazilian winger, even confirming the transfer on Twitter, with some Roma fans gathering at the airport to welcome the player.

However at the 11th hour Barca swooped with a £45million bid which blew Roma’s offer out the water, and Malcom failed to board his chartered private plane to Rome.

Instead the next day he signed for Barcelona, leaving Roma embarrassed and Pallotta furious.

In a long rant to American radio station Sirius XM, he claimed to have rejected an apology from Barca over the way they acted, and said he would only forgive if they allowed Roma to sign Malcom – or Messi.

Pallotta said: ‘There’s no question that we had a deal with Malcom, then Barca jumped into the mix unethically and immorally. They knew this was done.

‘I have zero problem battling it out for a player with Inter or Bayern or whoever and all of us going through the same process. That’s the way it works.

‘Sure some people say “it wasn’t signed”. That’s bull****. We all know how it works. The kid comes in for the medical and the signing is done.

‘Other teams know not to come in and do what Barca did. Bordeaux should have never been doing what they did. Their actions were ridiculous.

‘For Bordeaux to come back and say ‘Oh well, we didn’t sign it…’, well, they asked if they could put it on their website and tweet that he’s going to Rome.

‘Barcelona apologised about their actions and how they did things. I don’t accept the apology at all. The only way I’ll accept Barca’s apology is if they send the player to us, and that’s not going to happen. Maybe, as a goodwill gesture, the very least they could do is send us Messi.’

Exposed Super Eagles Coach, Salisu Yusuf Reveals Why He Collected ‘Bribe

Coach Salisu Yusuf has denied he took money from undercover journalists led by Ghana’s Anas Aremeyaw Anas, posing as football agents to select two players for this year’s CHAN in Morocco.

salisu yusuf caught taking bribe

A sting video, which had been aired on the various platforms of the BBC showed Yusuf collecting a reported $1,000 to pick two players from the 2017 WAFU Nations Cup in Ghana for the 2018 CHAN in Morocco.

In his prepared defence, Salisu, who is undergoing medical treatment in London, said he neither asked for the money nor did he promise the agents he would pick the players because of the cash they gave him.

He instead claimed that players were picked on merit and their consistency.

“There is nothing in the allegation pointing to a demand for the money from the agents of the two principals. Rather, the agent only handed the money to me after expressing ‘hope’ that the principals would play in the Championship.

“Be that as it may, I did accept cash handed to me by one of the said football agents, which I later discovered, upon checking, to be $750 and not $1000. Nonetheless, my understanding of the FIFA and NFF Codes of Ethics, particularly Sections 20 of the said codes, is that, gifts of any kind could be accepted by persons bound by the codes which are: of symbolic or trivial value; exclude any influence for the execution or omission on an act that is related to one’s official activities or fall within one’s discretion; are not contrary to one’s duties; do not create any undue pecuniary or other advantage and do not create a conflict of interest,” the coach defended.

This is what happened Borussia Dortmund star, Christian Pulisic saw a child being taken away by security, he stopped them and made sure the boy got a photo with his hero.

Meanwhile, Pulisic was the star man for Borussia Dortmund as his two goals helped the German giants to a 3-1 friendly win against Liverpool. But he was banned from being named man of the match in the International Champions Cup for one very good reason.

That’s because the attacking midfielder, at just 19-years-old, is not old enough to drink in the US.

The award was sponsored by Heineken – so despite being part of a defence that conceded three goals, Reds goalscorer Virgil van Dijk was handed the prize instead.

The legal drinking age in the US is 21, so 27-year-old Van Dijk was on the right side of the law for this one.

Pulisic stole the show in the second half with two goals to win it for Dortmund.
