This Is A Government Of Liars – Atiku Takes A Swipe At President Buhari Again

Former vice President and presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has  describe President Muhammadu Buhari’s government as one replete with lies.

Atiku Abubakar and buhari

This is as different support groups canvasing for the former vice president  overwhelmed control by security agents as the former vice president visited Enugu State, yesterday.

The support groups had in the morning taken over roads leading to Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu and practically obstructed traffic from Emene to GRA state office of the PDP where Abubakar addressed party members amid uncontrollable crowd.

Speaking at the party secretariat, Abubakar said “This government is a government of liars. They promised three million jobs per annum but Nigerians have been losing three million jobs every year.

This job loss has brought the worst form of insecurity in the country. “We are facing challenging times in Nigeria. The economy is at its lowerst ebb and the greatest challenge is unemployment.”

The former vice president stated that the 2019 general elections would be Nigeria’s most crucial poll in which citizens must ensure their votes count. “The is the most crucial election. Make sure you vote and when you vote, stand to protect your votes,” he urged. Atiku also stated that experience stands him out from the crowd, noting that he is the only former vice president running for 2019 presidency.

He said: “No other government has surpassed our strides in governance. So, if you are looking for an experienced person, I am here; if you are looking for a politician that can create jobs and unite Nigeria, I am here.”

The former national chairman of PDP, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo said Abubakar was the only candidate who would implement restructuring, improve Nigeria’s economy and education standards, create jobs and solve poverty and killing issues in the country.

Where Does A Man’s Dignity Rest? Politician Goes Emotional, Na*ked Himself Inside National Assembly To Protest Against Bad Govt.

A Venezuelan opposition lawmaker almost stripped down naked, showing just his briefs, during an emotional debate in front of the country’s National Assembly on Tuesday.

Gilber Caro, a member of the hardline opposition party Popular Will, called for unity and the support of Juan Requesens, 29, an opposition leader who was accused and jailed for allegedly having a role in an assassination attempt on President Nicolas Maduro on August 4 during a military celebration.

Caro hailed Requesens as ‘a brilliant young man. A young man who gave it his all in the streets.’

‘It’s the moment. I call for unity in this institution so that we can defend it the way Requesens was out in the street defending the institution and Venezuela’s liberty,’ he said.

Moments later, Caro, 43, removed his sports coat as he questioned everyone in attendance, ‘where does a man’s dignity rest?,’ before tearing his dress shirt off and walking to the other side of the chamber.

The politician momentarily paused to take his pants off and then blamed the president’s administration of stripping its citizens basic rights to food and medicine.

He himself spent 17 months imprisoned after Maduro accused him of carrying out terror attacks in 2016 before he regained his freedom in June.

‘A man’s dignity and love is not carried inside what I just finished removing,’ Caro yelled. ‘The dignity is in the heart and we carry Venezuela in the heart, [too].’

Hours after Caro’s emotional tirade, a court in Caracas kept Requesens detained along with two other high-ranking military officials, whose exact roles in the alleged assassination plot weren’t revealed.

Requesens, 29, has been charged with seven counts, including, terrorism, illegal possession of firearms and explosives, treason and attempted homicide.

The government steadfastly claims that opposition factions conspired with assailants in Miami and Bogota, although they have not shown any supporting evidence.

Shocking! Woman Reveals What Prophet Told Her To Do In Order To Get Quick Riches.

A 35-year-old woman has revealed how her love for quick riches left her with bad luck and debt.

Precious Manganye

According to reports, the woman identified as Precious Manganye from Greenfield in Sekampaneng, Tshwane, South Africa – saw a newspaper ad last month, promising quick riches.

The unemployed woman told Daily Sun she was desperate and contacted the prophet, who told her what to do to get rich.

Precious said: “He said I should do a ritual which would make me a millionaire. I took five one rand coins, cut my fingers with a razor and dropped blood on each of the coins, as instructed. I then put the bloodied coins in a plastic bag with soil and put them under my bed.”

She said the prophet told her that she would get a notification a few hours later.

“I received an SMS that seemed to be from the bank, notifying me that R2 million had been deposited in my account. I was excited but scared at the same time,” she said.

She told the prophet about the money and he asked her to send him R1 500.

“He said it was to make the money become available. I went to borrow the money from umashonisa,” she said.

Rather than getting her money, the prophet continued demanding money. That’s when she became suspicious.

Precious said: “In total, I gave him R9 500 and wasn’t getting any money from him.”

“This was a curse. Wherever I go people get irritated by me. My family now hates me and I can’t get a job,” she said.

She said she was now helpless and felt worthless.

“I don’t know what to do any more. Where I am going to get money to pay the mashonisa and my family,” she said.

When Daily Sun contacted the prophet, he said: “I do normal traditional rituals but I don’t know who she is and have never spoken to her.

“She’s probably confusing me with someone else.”

OMPAN Condemns Arrest Of Premium Times Journalist, Calls For His Immediate Release

The  Online media practitioners association of Nigeria (OMPAN) has condemned the continued detention of Premium Times journalist Samuel Ogundipe who was arrested on  Wednesday by SARS now (FSARS) for carrying out his professional duties inline with the ethics of journalism.

According to a pres release Signed by Ismaila Yahaya Kana the PRO of OMPAN and  obtained by IGBERE TV on Wednesday, OMPAN frowned at the undemocratic activities of the Police, saying that Nigeria is fast becoming a banana republic and subsequently called for the immediate and unconditional release of the journalist.

The statement reads in full:

Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria is shocked at the arrest of Samuel Ogundipe of PremiumTimes, and condemns strongly, his continued detention by the Nigerian police for refusing to give up his sources.

OMPAN joins other well meaning local and international organization to call for his immediate and unconditional release as well as unfreezing of his account.

OMPAN wonders why only Samuel Ogundipe was singled out for this unlawful, evil and undemocratic arrest when so many online and print media houses carried the story in question.

It is very strange that in a country that claims to be practicing democracy, a member of the fourth realm can be arrested and detained by the police without provocation.

OMPAN wants to stress that Mr Samuel Ogundipe was well within his rights to report the said letter and should not be held responsible for the inability of the Nigerian Police to manage its confidentiality or put a tight lid on all the sensitive documents it wants to keep away from the public.

The fact that Mr Samuel Ogundipe was exercising his constitutionally protected right as a journalist can never be overemphasized and not even the Nigerian police has the power to take that away from him.

OMPAN notes with chagrin that Nigeria is fast becoming a Banana republic because of the high handedness of the police and other security agencies and this is not acceptable in a democratic dispensation.

OMPAN wants to state very clearly that Nigerians can no longer tolerate this Military Junta style that the police is adopting to silence reporters and starting with the immediate and unconditional release of Samuel Ogundipe, the police must desist from further embarrassing Nigeria in the eye of the international community.

The Nigerian police has already inflicted a great deal of pain on innocent and law abiding Nigerians already and this must stop!

OMPAN recalls how SARS officers arrested, molested and compelled its members in Owerri to pay a huge bribe before matching them to an ATM to withdraw the bribe money or risk being implicated to a crime. But for the resourcefulness of the Journalists in procuring incontrovertible pictorial evidence of that event, they probably would have been held in similar fashion as Samuel Ogundipe.

This is unacceptable. The police must as a matter urgency retrace its footsteps and toe the path of civility and service to humanity as is commensurate with their profession the world over. The statement concluded.

Police break silence on arrest of Premium Times’ Samuel Ogundipe

The Nigeria Police Force have made first public statement on the arrest and detention of Premium Times’ journalist, Samuel Ogundipe.

Speaking on the reported arrest, the police spokesperson, Jimoh Moshood, said he was not aware of details of the arrest.

Moshood, who spoke on Wednesday during AIT’s breakfast programme, Kakaaki, however pointed out that no Nigerian is beyond being invited by the police when an investigation is being carried out.

“I am not aware of the details of the matter. But what I can say is that any Nigerian, whether a journalist or any member of the public can be invited by an investigating officer to come around so that he or she can clear themselves of any allegations against them. Since you are telling me now, I will find out exactly what is happening,” Moshood said.

The police, through the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), on Tuesday arrested and detained Ogundipe, who covers the security sector for Premium Times.

Many Nigerians, activists, lawyers and groups have called for the unconditional and immediate release of the reporter who is still in detention as at press time.

Lai Mohammed Reveals How Fake News Fuelled National Assembly Crisis

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has attributed the escalation of the recent crisis in the National Assembly to the circulation of fake news, especially in the Social Media.

The Minister stated this in Abuja on Tuesday when he paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of Blueprint Newspapers, in furtherance of the Federal Government’s campaign against fake news, which was launched 11 July 2018.

“When we launched the campaign, we did not envisage the kind of event that occurred at the National Assembly last week, specifically Aug. 7 – Less than one month after the launch. That event, during which the National Assembly was barricaded, is a classic example of how fake news can aggravate conflicts. In fact, it was driven all the way by fake news

”A serving Senator led the fake news onslaught, claiming that only APC members were being allowed into the chambers as a ploy to impeach the Senate President while PDP members were barred – FAKE NEWS! No APC members was in the chambers at the time!” he said.

Alhaji Mohammed said but for the timely intervention of the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, the situation could have deteriorated and brought great opprobrium on the country.

He said that in the aftermath of the crisis, news that 21 billion Naira and assorted weapons have been found in the residence of the sacked Director-General of the DSS also turned out to be fake.

The Minister said fake news remains a clear and present danger to the nation’s unity and democracy, and indeed to the very survival of the country, adding that it cannot and must not be treated with levity.

He admonished Nigerians to always check the source of any news item before sharing it, saying”Don’t share whatever you can’t vouch for.”

Alhaji Mohammed stressed the need for the media to take the lead in the campaign against the phenomenon of fake news which, he said, has the capacity to erode the credibility of the media.

He said the visit to the corporate headquarters of the Blueprint was to enlist the newspaper’s support for the campaign against fake news as well as to thank the news medium for not allowing its platform to be used to spread fake news.
