Orji Kalu NOT in Travel Ban List - Presidency

The Presidency has denied a report by the media that the former governor of Abia and All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu is among the 50 Nigerians placed on Travel Ban by the Federal Government.

The report claimed that Kalu, 9 other ex Governors and 40 other prominent Nigerians were in the purported list.

The Presidency however denied issuing any list of Nigerians affected by a travel ban to the press, describing the list in circulation as fake.

It also clarified that the Executive Order No. 6 is not a political weapon against opposition but part of revolutionary efforts to rid Nigeria of corruption.

Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity issued the clarification today in respond to IGBERE TV’s enquiry after a national newspaper published a list containing 50 names of people cutting across the two main political parties and the military establishment.

“I want to confirm to you that we have not issued any list and we are not doing so”, the presidential aide Told our correspondent on phone.
