Anambra State Govt to Partner With OMPAN in Social Devt - Information Commissioner (Photos)

Today, 14th June, Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria Anambra State chapter was hosted by the Commissioner of Information and Public Enlightenment Mr C.Don Adinuba in his conference room.

The Commissioner was delighted as he gave warm reception to OMPAN members and  appreciated them for visiting his office and assured them of his total support in piloting the affairs of the association, which will in turn bring about balanced and consistence reportage in the state.

Today, 14th June, Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria Anambra State chapter was hosted by the Commissioner of Information and Public Enlightenment Mr C.Don Adinuba in his conference room.

The Commissioner was delighted as he gave warm reception to OMPAN members and  appreciated them for visiting his office and assured them of his total support in piloting the affairs of the association, which will in turn bring about balanced and consistence reportage in the state.

Mr Adinuba was also grateful and appreciated the team for their support during the previous gubernatorial election  that led to the emergence of Willie Obiano as the executive Governor of Anambra State.

He however, highlighted the need of consistency and factual in reportage to avoid spreading of fake news especially in social media, in his word, “No Governor in Nigeria makes use of the social media platform in Nigeria than Governor Willie Obiano” he added.

He urged online media practitioners to always balance their stories and also requested for continued partnership of OMPAN in the state for news rebranding and prioritize factual reportage which will bring about accuracy and consistency in media climate.

Meanwhile, the chairman of Anambra State chapter of OMPAN, Comrade Mike Nwachukwu, exhorts the information  Commissioner to always feed OMPAN with factual news emanating from the coffers of the government and pledged to uphold the already existing good works of the Willie Obiano administration through effective news reportage in the state.

In this sequel, the Secretary of the state Chapter of OMPAN, Gwen Divy Ifeson highlighted the need of a good work relationship with the ministry because according to her, if the Association is not feed with the right news it might lead to spreading of fake news.
Other members seen in attendance were the welfare director, Mr Anslem Madubuwa, Doris Ada kamuche (PRO 1), among others.
